Cat-scratch disease

Cat-scratch disease is a common infectious disease caused by Bartonella henselae. It is transmitted by cats, through the cat’s scratch or bite. Presence of the bacteria in humans is hard to detect by traditional bacterial cultivation because growth takes up to 6 weeks.
